We saw many different reactions to the passing of the Respect for Marriage Act and Deseret News has a round-up.
David Lane, a influential evangelical political activist, sent out an email to his list of 70,000 on Tuesday saying of President Trump that “Unfortunately, the former president’s penchant for settling political scores and his compulsion to keep the spotlight upon himself have both become threadbare and trite.” Lane suggested Trump was to blame for Republicans’ underwhelming performance in the midterms. Today, Ukraine banned religious organization activities with ties to Russia’s “centers of influence” across the country. (AP)
In a new report, giving to Christian charities went up 3% in 2021, while giving to churches and youth ministry dropped. (RNS)
