Pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel protests continue on college campuses across the nation, leading to universities and local police departments to muddle through policies and responses. (NBC) WH adviser John Kirby told ABC’s This Week that, “The president knows that there are very strong feelings about the war in Gaza. He understands that, he respects that, and as he has said many times, we certainly respect the right of peaceful protest. People should have the ability to air their views and to share their perspectives publicly, but it has to be peaceful…”
President Biden spoke with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday concerning Israel’s planned invasion of Rafah (the White House is advising against the invasion for humanitarian reasons) and finally securing a ceasefire deal with Hamas. (AP) Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Saudi Arabia yesterday to lead ceasefire talks with Egyptian and Qatari officials. Blinken will then head to Jordan and Israel. (NYT)
