“The Prophecies of Q” (The Atlantic)
Because there’s lots of writing on conspiracy theories right now, and this essay on the power of QAnon is depressing and scary at the same time.
“F*** the Bread. The Bread is Over.” (The Paris Review)
Because we don’t normally share articles with explicit language, but we were finally able to read this essay and the writing here is top-notch. It’s a quiet rumination on modern life.
“Kid culture” (Aeon)
Because this is a very thoughtful reflection on the activities and engagement we’ve curated for children and adults in the US.
“Facebook’s Smooth New Political Fixer” (Politico Magazine)
Because Nick Clegg, former UK deputy prime minister, is now working for Facebook and helping them with their image problem.
“Baking Bread in Lyon” (The New Yorker)
Because this article made me (Melissa) ball my eyes out because the star of this article, Bob, was exactly like my grandfather. A story about a baker baking bread without pomp, without sleep, without accolades.
