Thank you for this, Michael! I often feel the strain between giving attention to my kid and cooking with care, especially as someone has historically loved cooking. I'm TOTALLY with you on making the roast chicken and then broth from the bones. I do it most weeks!

There will also be seasons your kids might turn up their noses at everything you make, even if they’ve devoured it 100x before. Keep being faithful to put food on the table, make your table a joyful place and they’ll come back around, eventually.

There is no substitute for spending time with your children, God will bless that time and you will be blessed by your children. Carefully examine the costs when work or career invade family space, even for the most noble of reasons.

This is wonderful, and I can’t wait for more cooking content! Perfect timing as I’m entering a busy season, and I just completed my annual re-read of Supper of the Lamb, so I’m torn between needing meals that don’t take lots of sustained attention while also wanting to enjoy making tasty food!
